Challenge

With no existing assets or visual direction, the biggest challenge was starting entirely from scratch—defining the voice, personality, and visual world of the brand without a reference point. It meant getting to the heart of what the club stood for through conversation, research, and exploration. Another challenge was making the brand feel both athletic and wearable. It needed to work across event signage and social media but also feel bold and stylish enough for lifestyle merchandise. Finding that balance—between sport and street—meant careful consideration of typography, tone, and color. Every element had to carry the right energy: fast, grounded, and inclusive. Lastly, because the audience was so broad—from casual runners to dedicated track athletes—I had to create something that felt open and adaptable. The visual identity couldn’t lean too niche or too generic; it had to represent a shared spirit and community feel, no matter someone’s level or reason for joining.

Objective

The goal was to build a fresh, memorable identity for a newly established club that blends sport with lifestyle. With a focus on community events, merchandise, and everyday wear, the brand needed to feel inclusive and energizing—something that speaks to both serious athletes and casual supporters. It had to stand on its own visually, without relying on legacy or pre-existing content, and establish Joe’s Track & Field Club as more than just a place to run—it’s a brand people can connect with, represent, and feel proud to be part of.

Results

The final identity for Joe’s Track & Field Club is bold, versatile, and full of character. The logo system is simple yet distinctive, built to move easily across digital and physical platforms—from race-day banners to social media posts and everyday apparel. The typography feels active and grounded, while the color palette adds vibrancy without being overly polished, giving the brand a raw, energetic edge. The branding sets the tone for a community-driven club that’s as much about connection and lifestyle as it is about performance. Whether you're there to compete, support, or simply be part of something exciting, the visual identity invites everyone in. It’s cohesive, scalable, and already laying a strong foundation for future events, merchandise drops, and broader community engagement.
